THE WOOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau Chairman, Nelda Blair, and a host of other community leaders welcomed Margarita Zavala, the former First Lady of Mexico, to The Woodlands where she addressed a gathering regarding the growing number of Hispanic families visiting and relocating to the community.

Mrs. Zavala presented to the group, “Amiga Asociación,” in an effort to provide guidance to local leaders in order to assist families from Mexico and other countries from Latin America who are visiting The Woodlands or moving to live in the community.

“Mrs. Zavala is an incredible, visionary leader who has compassion for all people,” said Blair. “It was an honor to share an afternoon with her.”

The Woodlands represents families from all cultures and over 100 different countries, according to Nick Wolda, president of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.

This was an especially important visit as The Woodlands continues to reach out to build our travel and tourism market from various international markets,” Wolda added.
