The Woodlands Children’s Museum Joined Forces with Tom’s to Raise Awareness of Blindness and Vision Impairment

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Children’s Museum joined forces with TOMS to help end avoidable blindness and vision impairment as part of the Oct. 10 TOMS World Sight Day global campaign.

Museum guests participated in a variety of activities designed to demonstrate how difficult life without sight can be. There were also free eye exams for children provided by Child & Family Eye Care.

“Most people are unaware that 80 percent of the people who are blind or visually impaired don’t have to be,” Angela Colton, executive director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, said. “On World Sight Day, we set aside time to recognize this critical global issue.”

The Woodlands Children’s Museum provides pre-school children with multiethnic and multicultural experiences and celebrates cultural and global differences through educational programs, calendar festivities and exhibits and outreach.

The 501(c)3 non-profit organization is supported through admissions, memberships, fee based events, fundraisers and donations.

The museum is seeking sponsors or partners for events, as well as general donations. Individuals, foundations and corporations are invited to contact the museum to discuss partnership opportunities.
