33rd Annual Nutcracker Market Sets New Records!

33RD ANNUAL NUTCRACKER MARKET SETS NEW RECORDSHOUSTON, TX – The results from Houston Ballet’s 33rd Annual Nutcracker Market are in.  Attendance for the 4-day event was 112,396, an increase of 7.2%.   Merchant sales were $19,155,050. a remarkable 8.1% increase over 2012 sales. Houston Ballet receives 10% of the merchant’s sales in addition to ticket sales, event sales and sponsorships which should net slightly over $4 Million to the Foundation.

Waiting for the Market to open Tailgaters were set up daily by 7:00 AM enjoying Mimosas, Champagne and Croissants. Shoppers arrived in Houston from several states including California, Arizona and Florida.

The 4-day event opened on Thursday, Nov. 7th and ran through Sunday, Nov. 10th in Reliant Center.  The Market utilizes all of Reliant Center (over 1 million square feet) and featured over 300 national merchants from over 117 cities in over 33 states.

All proceeds from the Market benefit the Houston Ballet Foundation, its Academy and Scholarship Programs.
