THE WOODLANDS, TX – With the holiday season in full swing,  Interfaith of The Woodlands is asking for the community’s help adopting local senior citizens and holding toy drives.

Each year, Interfaith hosts its annual holiday GIVING programs which include toy drives and the opportunity to adopt a senior citizen.  Interfaith collects new donated toys and gifts for children of all ages.  The gifts are distributed from a local fire station to families enrolled in the program.  By donating new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards, qualified parents are able to “shop” for their families through Interfaith’s Holiday Toy Drive.

“More than ever before, we are seeing many families and seniors coming to Interfaith for assistance, and our holiday assistance programs are no exception, “ said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Through the GIVING program for seniors, individual and groups can adopt a senior citizen who is in need or alone for the holiday and provide specific gifts that a senior has requested.  Both programs make a tremendous difference in the lives of community neighbors in need.

“We hope that our gifts will bring a little bit of relief and a lot of joy to those in the community who are less fortunate.  We want them to know that there are people who care about them,” said Interfaith donor, Teresa Ynigueq of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Orthodox Church.

Anyone interested in adopting a senior or providing gifts for seniors, please call Amanda Badneck at 832-615-8224 or abadneck@woodlandsinterfaith.org.    All senior gift donations can be dropped off at Interfaith of The Woodlands through December 6.  Toys may be dropped off at Interfaith of The Woodlands or the Central Fire Station by December 13.

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area.  For more information on Interfaith’s programs and services, or to become a volunteer, please visit:  www.woodlandsinterfaith .org or call 281-367-1230.
