THE WOODLANDS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 2014 EVENTSTHE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands once again will be the place for fun, family-friendly entertainment throughout 2014 with a full line-up of free concerts, weekend fireworks celebrations and holiday events produced by The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau

“These events have become synonymous with The Woodlands,” notes Nick Wolda, president of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “They’ve become popular with families of The Woodlands as well as those from outside the community which certainly benefits our restaurants, retailers, hotels and entertainment venues.” All events and dates are weather permitting and subject to change and pending potential construction at Waterway Square.

Spring & Fall Series of Live at Night at Waterway Square

Live at Night returns to Waterway Square this spring and fall featuring live, outdoor music at sunset as presented by local and regional artists. With the Fountains at Waterway Square as a backdrop, the free concert series is one of the most popular live music settings in the area. The spring edition of the Live at Night concert series will take place Saturdays, March 1 – April 26, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. with special event BAM! JAM! on April 12. The fall schedule will be held Saturdays, September 13 – 27, 2014 and October 4 and 11, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 8 pm.

Memorial Day Weekend CelebrationTHE WOODLANDS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 2014 EVENTS_1

Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with live music, children’s activities and strolling entertainers at Waterway Square on Saturday, May 24, 2014 and Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  A spectacular fireworks show will light up the night sky both nights beginning at 8:55 p.m., weather permitting.

Waterway Nights Summer Music Series

Live music, fireworks and strolling performers highlight Waterway Nights, a summer entertainment music series for the entire family held every Saturday evening in June from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. in Waterway Square. New this year, the fireworks are conducted after each performance, weather permitting.

THE WOODLANDS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 2014 EVENTS_2Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza

Celebrate the 4th of July with one of the largest fireworks displays in the southwest (weather permitting), hot dog and watermelon eating contests, live entertainment, children’s activities and more at the 17th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza.  Join the celebration on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Town Green Park and Waterway Square, both located along The Woodlands Waterway®.  The Red, Hot & Blue Festival is free and open to the public. Tickets for food, concessions and games can be purchased at the Festival.

Labor Day Weekend Celebration

Labor Day Weekend at Waterway Square returns Saturday, August 30, 2014 and Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 9 pm, with back-to-back evenings of fireworks (weather permitting at 8:55 p.m.), live music, strolling entertainers and children’s activities.

Trick or Treat TrailTHE WOODLANDS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 2014 EVENTS_3

Get a jump on Halloween at the 5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail to be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Town Green Park and along The Woodlands Waterway.  Trick or treating, costume contests, children’s activities, vendor booths and more make this a must-attend events for the fall.  Admission is free.

Lighting of the Doves and iWOW

The 32nd Annual Lighting of the Doves and the 8th Annual iWOW (International Winter On The Waterway) Festivals will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Town Green Park and along The Woodlands Waterway from 3 p.m. – 9 pm.

Enjoy snow play areas, children’s activities, live music, ice carvers, vendor booths, Santa’s arrival aboard a specially decorated sleigh, fireworks and more.  With its “street fair” atmosphere, iWOW showcases the holiday traditions from a myriad of other countries at exhibits along The Woodlands Waterway.

Lighting of the Doves and iWOW are free and open to the public. Tickets for food, concessions and games can be purchased on site.

The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center

The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center, the largest seasonal outdoor ice rink in the southwest, returns with a Special Weekend Preview on Saturday, November 15, 2014 and Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins and Six Pines Drive. The Ice Rink will open daily starting Saturday, November 22, 2014 through January 19, 2015 with special promotional offers and discount days available.

THE WOODLANDS CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 2014 EVENTS_4Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland

A holiday must-see while in The Woodlands, the Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland features a fabulous array of illuminated holiday scenes and storybook displays.  Visitors can stroll through a fantasyland of magical lighted toy soldiers, elves, doves, musical angels and snowmen.  Open free to the public, the Winter Wonderland opens daily from dusk until 11 p.m. starting Saturday, November 22 through January 19, 2015.

Caroling on the Square Concert Series

Enjoy holiday sounds from local artists at Caroling on the Square at Waterway Square.  Festive holiday caroling will take place Saturdays, December 6, 13 and 20, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. with special appearances by Santa on December 6 and 13.
