THE WOODLANDS, TX – More than 9,000 toys, from board games and skateboards to dolls and playhouses, were collected during the 2013 Talisman Energy Holiday Toy Drive benefitting Interfaith of The Woodlands, a collection total making the drive one of the largest in the area.

The flood of toys, enough to fill several toy stores, were donated by families as they entered the Town Center Parking Garage at the 2013 Lighting of the Doves and iWOW festivals where parking was free in exchange for a donation.  Toys also were collected at the Talisman/Interfaith of The Woodlands booth in Town Green Park during the festivals and at Interfaith of The Woodlands throughout the 2013 holiday season.

“Amazing . . . simply amazing,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands. “Because of the extraordinary efforts of both Talisman Energy and The Woodlands CVB, Interfaith was able to give many, many children and their families a wonderful holiday experience.”

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency, providing support for struggling families and individuals in the community. Interfaith provides financial assistance, counseling, job training, and child care for people in crisis, and also works with member congregations, corporations, local businesses and other nonprofits to build a more loving and caring community.

“Talisman Energy feels strongly about giving back to the community,” notes Talisman Energy employee, and toy drive volunteer, Jane Patterson. “The holiday toy drive benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands is a significant outreach effort, and it is great to know that I work for a company that made it possible for me to give my time to this worthy cause.
