6th Annual Golf Classic for Kids at The Woodlands Country Club to be hosted by Waste Connections, Inc.

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Waste Connections, Inc. will host its 6th annual Golf Classic for Kids on Monday, March 31 at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course.  Tournament festivities will include a signature live auction including a trip to Napa Valley via private jet, and a deep sea fishing trip, food, on course contests, a raffle, the legendary tequila Party Hole, and team prizes.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit seven charities:  Interfaith of The Woodlands, Covenant House Texas, Parish School, Inspiration Ranch, Montgomery County Youth Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and The Roger Clemens Foundation.

We are extremely excited to welcome our celebrity golfer and philanthropist “The Rocket” Roger Clemens this year. Clemens was one of the most dominant pitchers in major league history, tallying 354 wins, a 3.12 earned run average (ERA), and 4,672 strikeouts, the third-most all time. He is an 11-time All –Star and two-time World Series champ, he won seven Cy Young Awards during his career, the most of any pitcher in MLB history.

In the five years since the annual tournament began, the event has raised close to a million dollars for charities.  “Thanks to all of our vendors and friends we have been able to raise an incredible amount of money for the charities that do such important work each day.  We are thrilled to be able to continue this tradition and continue making a difference in the lives of others,” said Jerri Hunt, Vice President of Employee Relations for Waste Connections, Inc.
