THE WOODLANDS, TX – On Monday, April 14, Interfaith of The Woodlands hosted a large Spring luncheon for more than 150 local senior residents.  The South County Community Center’s activity room was filled to capacity and decorated with fun spring décor, as guests enjoyed a full pasta lunch, dessert, games and a performance by students from the Interfaith Child Development Center.   “Interfaith’s Senior Services Team are excited to put together these luncheons and all of the activities offered.  This allows seniors to have fellowship with their friends and stay active.  It’s good for them and it’s good for our community,” shared Dr. Ann Snyder, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

In October of 2013, Interfaith took over the activities for seniors at the South County Community Center.  “Interfaith staff  really try to make all of us feel special.  We appreciate everything they do to make it fun and festive.  We always have a lot of fun here, and enjoy all the activities we can participate in,” said guest Pat Linville.

All activities offered at the South County Community Center are free of charge and anyone age 62 or older can participate.  The average attendance for many of the activities is between 80-90 participants, and a hot meal is also offered courtesy of The Friendship Center.  Bingo games are held every Monday and Thursday at 11:00 AM, and the book club, fitness, and arts and crafts are offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays at 10:00 AM.  Seniors do not need to pre-register in order to participate.  The South County Community Center is located at 2206 Lake Robbins Drive.  For more information, please contact Debbie Repka at 832-615-8204832-615-8204 or drepka@woodlandsinterfaith.org.
