Interfaith of The Woodlands Names Debra Sukin 2014 Woman of Distinction

Debbie Sukin5x7 editTHE WOODLANDS, TX – Interfaith of The Woodlands is pleased to announce  Debbie Sukin has been selected to represent Interfaith at the 2014 Women of Distinction Luncheon.  The annual luncheon celebrates the accomplishments provided by volunteers to local organizations throughout the year.  “Debbie has always been supportive of not only Interfaith but also our community.  Her willingness to serve in any capacity makes her a wonderful asset to Interfaith, and we are extremely grateful for her contributions.  She is most deserving of this special award,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

Debbie currently serves on the Interfaith of The Woodlands Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, and has been involved in many philanthropic causes in The Woodlands community since St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital opened in 2003.  She has served on the Montgomery County American Heart Association Board of Directors, including past chair of the Heart Walk and Heart Ball.

She has actively participated on the United Way Appropriations Committee for Healthcare, and chaired the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk.  She has spoken on healthcare panels sponsored by U.S. Representative Kevin Brady, BizNow, and other community groups.  She has served multiple Board terms for the South Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Montgomery County.  Debbie is past chair of the Five Who Share Luncheon, and serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Interfaith Community Clinic.  She is actively involved in the Angelman Syndrome Foundation and has chaired the Houston-area Walk-a-thon in The Woodlands for the past eight years.  Debbie currently participates on the Woodforest National Bank Advisory Board and Economic Development Partnership Board where she serves as Treasurer.

The 2013 Women of Distinction luncheon will begin at 10:30AM on Friday, May 24th at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.
