New Walmart Supercenter Opening at Grand Parkway and Rayford Road

We have all been anticipating what would be built at the corner of Rayford Road & Riley Fuzzell. There has been a discussion of a Target or Walmart for quite some time. It has finally been announced that Roche Constructors, were awarded the contract to construct Walmart Supercenter No. 3585. This store will be built in the new Rayford Road crossing retail development. Many people are already asking what else will be in that development. Rumors of a Chickfila along with other fast food chain restaurants in the WalMart parking lot are soon to be announced.

The news of this Walmart brings mixed emotions to the community. When we asked a local resident from Legends Ranch her thoughts on the news she said, “I am concerned that this will bring down the home values in the area and attract a different type of clientele than a Target.” She followed by saying, “It will be something to adjust to, I am just glad to know it will be the new design layout like the one on Sawdust Rd.”

Roche released the following information regarding the new store, the 189,543-square-foot store will be home to a tire lube express, garden center, and pharmacy as well as the regular retail departments and groceries.
