“It Only Takes One WATT to Light Up The Woodlands!” JJ Watt Makes a Surprise Appearance

The Waterway was a busy place, starting early Thursday morning with camera crews, advertising agencies and producers all getting ready for the arrival of Houston Texans, JJ Watt. The reason for his visit to The Woodlands is Bird House Productions was heading up a project, with Producer Lynn Birdwell. The advertising agency is out of Michigan and their company’s name is Team Detroit. JJ Watt was here to shoot a new commercial for Ford Motor Company.

When we arrived at the event, there was a lot of anticipation stirring about the time of his arrival. Men and women from surrounding office buildings were arriving in hopes of seeing Watt, getting an autograph, or snapping a video or picture of him to immediately send out on FB, twitter & other social media sites. Fans lined up holding personally made signage, Texans posters, and of course wearing their favorite Texans Watt Jersey. Rumors of an 11:00 am arrival time were circulating. JJ Watt actually arrived at 11:08 am in his casual everyday attire, a shirt, shorts, running shoes and ball cap. Upon arrival he walked straight to an upscale RV, and begin to prepare for the shoot.

Insiders say he had 6 pairs of jeans and 6 shirts inside the RV, along with his makeup artist to get him ready. We heard someone say, “He is eating his breakfast and then he will be ready.” Sound and audio arrived in the RV and a few minutes later JJ Watt comes out in jeans, and a grey t-shirt. Crowds screamed “We love you JJ!”, from all around the Waterway.

People were lined up in the parking garage looking over and snapping pictures from all directions. He kindly waved and smiled at everyone, no autographs or pictures were allowed. Amongst the fans at the event, Howard Hughes Corporation  was also in attendance, along with The Woodlands mascot Puffy Pinecone to welcome JJ Watt. Keep an eye out for the new Ford commercial featuring Watt. It should be easy to recognize the scenery in the commercial for all local Woodlands residents and people who spend a lot of time here. The Woodlands truly is a one of a kind place and we were honored to have Watt here. Let’s get ready for football season & GO TEXANS!
