Multiple Businesses in The Woodlands Were Ordered to Evacuate For Cut Gas Line

THE WOODLANDS, TX –  According to fire officials, Multiple businesses have been evacuated after a gas leak in The Woodlands.

Click 2 Houston and ABC13 reported, the cut line happened at 10:40 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Millbend Thursday.

The Woodlands Fire Department said, “contractors hit a 4-inch gas line and evacuated the area.”

According to reports, several businesses on the 2300 block of South Millbend Drive have been evacuated near the Randalls due to a cut gas line, including a daycare center. The gas can be smelled as far as Woodlands Parkway.
Businesses evacuated include the south part of the Grogans Mill Shopping Center and the Teach a Tot day care center.

Businesses evacuated went to the Shell Learning Center on the other side of the parking lot.

The pipe is fed from three directions and two of those directions have been capped for now.

Crews hope to have the area cleared and cleaned up soon.

Air crews are monitoring a nearby apartment complex.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were assisting The Woodlands Fire Department with the evacuations.

As of now things may be under control as we have heard word of some businesses in the area back up and operating. We will keep you updated as we find out more.
