Woodlands Sole Expo Does it Big with Celebs, Shoes, Vendors, Cars and More

The Woodlands Sole Expo brought it! Upon arrival at Legends Sports Complex I immediately caught sight of some sweet rides sitting up close to the entrance. Among those cars were a Bentley, McDonalds Shoe Car (with major bass sounds) and a Lime Green Shelby Cobra. These cars held my attention for a bit, then I noticed the snow cone truck parked out front. Score! There were also 5 bounce houses for kids, a wipeout course, 100’s of giveaways and monster truck rides for those who wanted.

Trinidad James was hosting the show, accompanied by DJ Michael 5000 Watts and local stars like Lil Flip from Houston, TX were also on the scene.

Inside there were hundreds of vendors and thousands of shoes to look at. It was a sneaker heads dream land. I could’ve walked around for days before looking at every shoe, if I would’ve had time to examine each one. There were more than just shoes though. There were t-shirt and hat vendors. Different types of food to taste and I even spotted a Young Living booth in one of the corner’s ran by Teresa Osborne who I had a chance to meet. Teresa and her daughter Jessica were great to chat with, as I enjoy Young Living products and their mission of helping other as well.

There was a three point shooting contest going on for quite a while, which you’ll see some highlights of watching the video above. This even was a lot of fun, but one of the greatest things about it was that it was planned with motives of giving back to the community as well. Woodlands Sole Expo gave back to the community by collecting school supplies and backpacks for CISD and canned good for the Montgomery County Food Bank. A silent auction was held with items from professional athletes.  Legends Sports Complex 501c3 organization, which puts kids into after school or sporting programs that cannot afford it were also involved.

Trey Diller, President of Woodlands Sole Expo, who put this event on said, “My goal is to give the local companies an opportunity to expose their products to a crowd that will be very diverse and interactive within each other at a show that doesn’t target one market of people by only focusing on one product.”

I had an opportunity to interview Trinidad James who was extremely cool about letting us talk with him, and he gave us a little insight on himself:

Woodlands Journal: Hey, Trinidad how’s it going? Mind if I ask you a couple questions?

Trinidad James: Not at all

Woodlands Journal: When’s your next performance?

Trinidad James: The 22nd of August

Woodlands Journal: Where are you performing?

Trinidad James: New York

Woodlands Journal: What’s your biggest inspiration musically?

Trinidad James: Probably just my life. I’ve been through a lot, and my life has taught me a lot of things.

Woodlands Journal: Where do you currently reside?

Trinidad James: Los Angeles

Woodlands Journal: What’s your favorite thing about Woodlands Sole Expo?

Trinidad James: Probably the variation of different vendors. You got sneakers, dogs, I mean that’s what’s up. They’re selling everything. It’s good for the community.

Woodlands Journal: How much gold would you say you have on a daily basis usually?

Trinidad James: Probably about this much… (Pointing to his necklaces, rings, watches… ALOT #AllGoldEverything)
