The Runaway Plate, recently had their soft opening, located at 28533 Spring Trails Ridge, Suite 108 in Spring,Tx.

The Woodlands Journal had a moment to sit down with owner Lina Wang and find out about this great addition to the Riley Fuzzell corridor.

Owner, Lina Wang phrased it like this, “Redefining Fast Food, One Hot Wholesome Meal at a Time.” Wow, who wouldn’t love that!? As a busy working mother myself, I am tired and don’t feel like or have the time to prepare a hot meal every night, for me this is a perfect solution. Wang also said she would like to see her restaurant become the “new fast food, let’s eliminate the need for McDonalds as a meal supplement” as we both chuckled. Wang has always loved cooking and has attended cooking classes all over the world, including Singapore, France & Brazil. During the 2016 Olympics, Wang plans to feature one of the Brazilian dishes she learned to cook there.

The Runaway Plate offers different meal options daily and also have signature items everyday. I asked Wang her favorite and without a doubt she said the Cream Beef Barbeque, which is an explosion of Korean Beef, BBQ Short Rib and a kick of Spicy Kim Chi!

I personally cannot wait to try the Crumbled Greek Feta & Fresh Basil over Grilled Chicken Breast. They will also be releasing a new menu in mid October which will be their Fall/Winter menu. Included in that menu will be a delicious Red Wine Roast. All items are prepared in small batches from scratch, offering a fresh hot meal each and every time.

The drivethru at The Runaway Plate is an experience in itself. When pulling up to the drivethru there are 4 flat screen TV’s with a bright colorful menu which makes it very easy to order. Don’t expect to wait a long time in the drivethru, average wait is 1-3 minutes. You also have the option to dine in the restaurant if you choose, and it’s BYOB.
