The annual golf classic hosted by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce is right around the corner, and preparations are underway for participants to have the best experience on the greens.

One “green” company in particular, Woodlands Eco Realty, is planning some special treats for the golfers and guests for the March 28 tournament.

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring one of the holes on the golf course with both a beverage cart and a ‘side game’ area to win extra prizes,” said Priyanka Johri, owner of Woodlands Eco Realty, a local agency that focuses on upscale properties and ecologically sound design practices. “Not only will participants be able to refresh themselves at our ‘Watering Hole,’ they’ll also have a chance to take a moment to work on some other skills and give their golf swing a chance to rest.”

Games at the sponsored “Par Tee Time” seventh hole will include a golf club hurling contest and a “shoot the golf ball off the tee with a water gun” competition, with prizes awarded throughout the day to champions as they pass by. Drinks provided by Woodlands Eco Realty will include the eponymous “Arnold Palmers” – half lemonade / half iced tea concoctions favored by the golf legend.

“If we can get away with it, we’ll even see about offering gelatin shots, which could certainly turn out to be the best shots of the day,” said Johri with a laugh.

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic takes place Monday, March 16 with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Course. The event, to which nearly 200 golfers are expected to attend, will include alcoholic and soft refreshments, snacks, lunch and a post-tournament reception.
