The Woodlands High School coach Richard Harvey Jorgensen, age 54 accused of sexual assault of a student player was found dead.

According to KHOU, “Jorgensen was found dead in the Port Arthur area. Police there say Jorgensen shot himself.”

Jorgensen was the head coach of the girls softball team and was believed to be having an unreciprocated sexual relationship with one of the student players on his team.

The Courier reported, “In the affidavit, the girl states the first two times, Jorgensen kissed and touch her inappropriately. The first time was at the park Dec. 15, 2015. However, the last two times (at his home and in the press box), she said he kissed her and sexually assaulted her with his hand. The final time at his home, she said, Jorgensen attempted to have intercourse with her, but she rejected him.”

According to Pct. 3 the high school coach recently disappeared after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Investigators from Montgomery County Pct. 3 will be working with Port Arthur PD to conclude the investigation.
