The American Cancer Society’s Couture for the Cause of Montgomery County Moonlight in Milan fundraiser gala was recently held at The Club at Carlton Woods.

More than 200 attendees dressed in their finest and came out to support the cause.

The pinnacle of the evening was the fashion show of this season’s looks, from fun and casual to festive and formal, provided by Macy’s and vibrantly modeled by cancer survivors in celebration of their victories against the disease.

The heartwarming and inspirational show provided a look at the true strength and beauty of surviving this horrible disease. Guests also enjoyed signature bites, entertainment and camaraderie.

Guest speakers included event sponsor, Mike Nesbit, president of MW Cleaners, and community icon and honorary chair for this year’s gala, Theresa Roemer – both cancer survivors who shared their stories of fear, challenges and triumph with the crowd. The event also included a series of fundraising enhancers, including an ongoing raffle for the this year’s top prize of an exquisite one-of-a-kind tanzanite and pavé diamond ring valued at approximately $27,000, which was graciously donated by Mark Pharo Jewelers.
