Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) have found incredible benefits and life-saving solace with specially trained animals.

Service dogs have become a common sight to supplement other therapeutic programs.

But the givers of such four-legged care go beyond just dogs.

One local organization, Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary, provides special equine therapy for service men and women who are suffering from emotional, mental and behavioral issues. On Sunday, June 5, Southern Star Brewery in Conroe will be the host of the 2^nd Annual Southern Star Brewery Fundraiser for Henry’s Home.

The event is designed to raise funds for the organization’s many beneficial programs. It is open to the public and to family members of all ages; ticket discounts are offered to children and infants get in free. It runs from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. and will include music, food, craft beer, horses, door prizes, pony rides, a silent auction and family fun.

Southern Star Brewery will showcase its new tap room and beer garden at the indoor/outdoor event. In case of inclement weather, a rain day is scheduled for June 12.
