The famous Carlton Woods 17,315 square foot, three story closet home owned by Lamar and Theresa Roemer at 47 Grand Regency Circle, The Woodlands, TX. will hit the auction block on July 30.

The home which resides on more than 2 acres, has a theater, elevator, intercom system, gym, wine tasting room and two kitchens.

The closet alone separate from the house cost an estimated $500,000 to build, and gained national recognition when crooks broke in and burglarized the closet stealing jewelry and other valuables last year.

At one point the home was listed for $12.9 million. Currently the home is listed for sale on the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) website for $9,000,000 but has been picked up by the prestigious Platinum Luxury Auctions to go to auction on July 30.

On July 20 the home will go to auction with a $5 million reserve, or minimum bid with a $250,000 refundable deposit necessary to register for the live auction according to Chron.

Back in 2014 Theresa Roemer also told Chron, “This house was never meant to be a house that we would live in together. I was always meant to be a house to flip. I want to build another one and build a bigger closet.”
