The Foo Fighters have (“has”, if we’re just talking about founder Dave Grohl) existed for twenty-four years.

Impressively they’ve received the award for Best Rock Album at the Grammys FOUR times and have sold twelve MILLION records. Also, just in case you weren’t aware, their front man Dave Grohl, used to play drums for freaking NIRVANA.

What I’m getting at here is that it would be pretty easy for The Foo to “phone it in”, as they say: come out on stage, play their hits, tell the crowd in Houston that they’re way better than the crowd in Dallas, do the “fake exit”, come back for an encore, play Everlong and get the hell off the stage.

But they don’t do that.

Dave Grohl, now 49 years old, bounces around stage as though he were 20. There are no corners cut and no easy way out of any aspect of their performance.
