Now that school’s out for summer, it’s time for residents to look out for litter with The Woodlands Township.

Children and teens are welcome to join the free summer litter cleanup initiative to earn an ice cream cone and T-shirt.

This is also a great opportunity to have fun in the sun while keeping our community clean and green!

Now is a good time to maintain the momentum from the successful 2018 Earth Day GreenUp and continue beautifying The Woodlands one “litter bit” at a time.

After our recent rains it’s easy to see that the litter left on our roads and pathways finds its way into our waterways. A few bits here and there add up, polluting our waterways and making them unsafe for wildlife. Eighty percent of litter found in creeks, bayous and rivers traveled from the land.

For children 18 and under, it’s as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Pledge to pick up three (3) pieces of litter per day for 3 weeks.
2. Complete a daily log of the items.
3. Submit the log to the Township’s Environmental Services Department to receive a T-shirt while supplies last and a coupon for a free ice cream cone.

For registration information and to print a litter log, please visit The Woodlands Township website at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/adoptapath or call 281-210-3927.
