Runway Houston 7th Runway Presentation

Fashion meets philanthropy for a night of stunning fashions featuring Project Runway’s Season 16 winner to raise funds for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Runway Houston’s had its 7th fashion show on behalf of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Texas Gulf Coast Chapter in order to raise much needed money in coordination with inaugural Woodlands Man & Woman of the Year Campaign Candidate, Shannah Quinn. Featuring Kentaro Kameyama with his newest collection at the brand new Kirby Collection venue.

Joining Kentaro, designers donning their latest on the runway included Luis Astengo (Engomichu), former Houstonian Aries Milan (Kate Kills Pretty), Shalon Morris (Shalon B.), Danny Nguyen’s men’s collection (Danny Nguyen Couture), and Shehla Rana (Shehla Rana).

Kameyama, who received his Masters Degree at University in Oklahoma, fondly remembers visiting Houston and NASA in his college days. Kameyama related, “It was wonderful to return to Houston after all these years. I see Houston becoming a fashion capital in the near future, and designed and previewed two new pieces in my collection specifically as a nod to Houston.”

The emphasis was on local, as guests had the opportunity to mix and mingle among installations from featured local artists Tatiana Escallon, Patti Lennon-Potter, Monica Melgar and Chuck Redick, who showcased their newest pieces alongside recent collections from local fashion designers Alan Gonzalez (Alantude), Umair Khan (Meru Merus), and Danny Nguyen (Danny Nguyen Couture). After a successful seven year run, the next Runway Houston event will take place on September 27, 2018. “I am grateful for the continued support Houstonians show for our chosen charities and for our show itself. It lends itself to a bigger and better production every season, and we can’t wait to show you what we have in store for Runway Houston X,” expressed Runway Houston founder Omar Marcos.
